MIK PARTNERS Day
There is no university without industry, and no
industry without a university, a fact proven by numerous prospering
cooperations, as well as research and development projects. We focus this
year's MIK PARTNERS Professional Day, organised on 28 September 2023 in collaboration
with the Baranya County Chamber of Engineers, on the coordination of the
arising needs and demands of the industry and the related tasks of science and
education. The aim of the event, launched in 2018, is to showcase the results
of the UP Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and its extensive
partnership network in the fields of education, research and development, and
industrial innovation knowledge transfer.
This year, several prestigious programmes will
enrich the professional day: a cooperation agreement will be signed, in the
framework of which the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers will support the
University's technical higher education courses to be included in the EEED
(European Engineering Education Database) register, operated by Engineers
Europe (formerly FEANI), thus facilitating the recognition of the degrees of
international students in countries outside Europe. This day also marks the
30th anniversary of the environmental engineering education in Pécs; the Faculty
hosts the meeting of the national organisation of the Dual Training Council;
and the Baranya County Chamber of Engineers (BVMK) establishes the Young
Engineers Association, South Transdanubia Division also as a part of the MIK
PARTNERS Day. The event also provides a unique setting for the awarding of the
Alfréd Forbát Architecture Prize by the South-Transdanubian Chamber of
Architects to honour outstanding architects and their works; while the Join
Rise Multiplier Event, an international programme, also chose our professional
day to host its meeting. The Baranya County Chamber of Engineers organises an
outdoor poster exhibition promoting the engineering profession. The exhibit
will open to the public on 28 September at Széchenyi Square in Pécs, the
colourful posters on display in the city's main square will show the beauty and
significance of engineering and design and demonstrate the career path to
becoming an engineer.
Indeed, the central pillar of MIK PARTNERS will
continue to be the plenary session and the subsequent professional
presentations within the 10 sessions aligned to the training of our Faculty.
University lecturers, technical instructors and industrial partners will again
present and discuss the latest academic research and practical experience in
their fields in around 100 presentations, many of which will be in English and with
the usual participation of students.
