UP FEIT Institute of Architecture was the only Hungarian exhibitor at the Wuhan Design Week
The Wuhan Design Week takes place in a
reclaimed industrial environment in Wuhan, China, a city with a population 13
million people, and our Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology was
invited to present last year's New Normal, New City workshop.
The Wuhan Design Biennale is an exhibition and
professional program held every two years, showcasing the region's and the
city's most prestigious developments in the world of design. This year marks
the sixth time the event has been held and the second time that the Institute
of Architecture, UP FEIT has participated.
In addition to exhibiting at the Wuhan Design
Biennale, projects and research from Pécs were also presented at the concurrent
international conference. The "Wuhan International Youth League for
Urban Design Innovation" academic platform was also established with
the active participation of UP FEIT. “This platform aims to collaborate on research
projects in the future - similar to last year's", according to Dr Ákos
Hutter, professor at the Institute of Architecture (UP FEIT), who teaches in
Wuhan.
Participation in Wuhan Design Week will greatly contribute to the international visibility of our faculty and strengthen our international accreditation resources, which we are constantly striving for", says Dr Gabriella Medvegy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology of the University of Pécs.
