Hungarian Folk Dance Night with Zengő Band
Date: 4th of November 2024 at 18:00
Location: Dr. Koltai Dénes Hall (7633 Pécs, Szántó Kovács János u. 1/b)
The Zengő Band brings authentic Hungarian folk music, blending traditional sounds with modern elements. Formed in 1983, the band has recorded many radio and TV performances, and they have released seven albums so far.
They will offer a taste of the treasures of Hungarian folk music and dance culture, using special folk instruments such as the bagpipe, beat-gardon, peasant lute, and 3-string viola.
After the musical section, they will engage the audience with an authentic dance house, where participants can learn traditional dances from the South-Transdanubian region with the help of a dance teacher. Between the energetic dancing, they will play some Hungarian folk songs for a break, and later, the event will continue with dancing some Moldavian Csángó dances.
