Information regarding the upcoming semester
Information about the 1st (Autumn) semester of the 2026-2027 academic year
Dear Doctoral Students,
I would like to inform you about the most important tasks and deadlines for the beginning of the semester:
Registration period: 8am 19 August – 4pm 11 September, 2026 (CET). If you wish to continue your studies in
the Autumn semester, please activate the 1/2026/2027 semester in Neptun. Those who wish to become
passive should set the passive status (for educational administration reasons, it is recommended to take two
passive semesters in a row) After two consecutive passive semesters, an active semester must follow;
otherwise, the student status may also be terminated. Taking a passive semester is not recommended
during the first four semesters.
I draw your attention to the fact that after the 8th active semester, it is no longer possible to
activate/passivate the semester, as the student status ceases.

Course Registration
During the course registration period, every doctoral student is required to register their courses for the
semester in Neptun, based on the recommended curriculum (10 am, 27 August 2026 – 4pm, 25 September
2026)
If a student fails to register for the required courses within this period, late course registration will only be
possible upon payment of a late registration fee and by submitting the relevant request available in Neptun
under: Neptun → Menu → Administration → Requests
The deadline for submitting this request is the end of the 4th teaching week (2 October 2026). After this
deadline, course registration will no longer be possible.
In 5th and 7th semester, the supervisors hold only consultations on individual dates.
Consultation subjects are also registered by the doctoral student in NEPTUN, no later than the course
registration deadline.
All doctoral students are asked to start working with the supervisor(s). It is also advisable to prepare semester
work plans together. Work plans should be sent to the Secretariat of the Doctoral School breuer@mik.pte.hu
The form to be used is in the attachment.
Supervisors are responsible for the professional employment of doctoral students. After the start of the study
period, supervisors and doctoral students should contact each other to start working. The supervisor's task is
to help the compilation of the work plan and before submission to check the work plan. Deadline for the
submission of the work plan is the 2nd Doctoral School Day of the semester, this semester 9 October 2026. It
should be written in the work plan for which department, in what course, how many hours the doctoral student
is teaching.
We wish you a successful semester!
