Prizes

2013. Ybl Miklós Prize – for high quality design of completed buildings, for long-term activity in Architects’ education at Pollack Mihály Faculty of Engineering and IT of the University of Pécs, for establishing the Marcel Breuer Doctoral School and for the realization of the Hungarian Pavillion of the 13. La Biennale di Venezia in 2012 as Curator.


Working Experience

His research major was the optimisation of residential buildings from 1998 and since 2001 he has specialised in heritage preservation in education and practice. Since 2006 his scientific work is focusing on sustainability and energy efficiency in the field of Research by Design.

He works as an architect at Bachman & Bachmann Architects in Pécs. In 1997 and 1999 he worked as an Architect at Pálffy & Associates in Tokyo, Japan. He has been the designer or co-designer of numerous completed buildings. Since 2007, he has been a member of the Architecture, Civil and Transportation Engineering Qualification Departmental Committee on the Hungarian Accreditation Committee; the Consulting Committee ACETA of the European Committee in Brussels; the Architectural Planning Council at the Ministry of Local Government. He is a deputy of the Chamber of Hungarian Architects. He is also a member of the European Network of Heads of Schools of Architecture (ENHSA) and on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Pollack Periodica. He joins the subcommittee of the European Association of Architecture Educators (EAAE) for Periodicals of Research in Architecture. Since 2011 he is an external expert for the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA).
