Our university will organize PARTNERS DAYS on 17-18 October 2019 which will be attended by our industrial and academic partners. As a part of this event a workshop will be held as a plenary session (10.00-13.00 on the first day) with a conceptual subject of STRUCTURES AND SUSTAINABILITY.
The workshop aims to raise awareness about civil engineering solutions for sustainable development and focus on the following topics.
- Preservation of existing structures and infrastructure
- Safety vs. sustainability
- Design of sustainable and resilient structures
- Ethics in design for sustainability
- Whole-life approach in design
- Lessons learnt from catastrophic failures
- Recycling of construction materials
Preservation of existing structures and infrastructure
A special Workshop will be held on MASONRY ARCH BRIDGES in collaboration between the University of Pécs and the UIC International Union of Railways on both days (15.00-18.00 on the first day and 8.30-13.00 on the second day). More info.
The workshops are addressed to civil and structural engineers, researchers, asset managers and all those who are dedicated to sustainability or seek knowledge on the preservation and safe operation of existing structures.
Participation at the workshops is free of charge for all participants but registration is required.
